Nordikas was founded in 1983, the fruit of the business initiative of two footwear professionals, Gregorio Tomás and Gonzalo Juárez, from the town of Elche (Alicante).
At the beginning, their activity focussed on the manufacturing of “slippers for walking around the house” which is how they became known as footwear used inside homes. A few years later, and fruit of the curiosity of its founders, Nordikas began to develop through intense R+D work, and with the idea of introducing fashion into homes, something that in time would become a new category of product pioneered by Nordika: Home footwear.
Currently, Nordika’s designs continue to surprise every season with models that mark trends and are synonymous with true comfort thanks to their soft leathers, flexible soles, comfortable shapes and breathable interiors.
The consolidation of Nordikas leadership in the national territory and the opening of new international markets, meant that, in 2001, new facilities were opened in Elche Industrial Park in Elche (Alicante), one of the most modern Business Centres in Europe where most of the large Spanish footwear firms can be found.
This cutting edge centre of production with capacity for more than 1,000,000 pairs supplements the previous one, forming a total of 10,000m2 and is home to the Management areas, R+D, Logistics, Commercial and Marketing, as well as a new production facility.
DESIGN, SELECTION OF MATERIALS AND PRODUCT TESTING
Extra-soft and breathable leather, dyed with natural pigments, 100% virgin wool, special linings which keep the feet warm, latex gels with active carbon, non-slip light and flexible soles, with great recovery and buffering capacity...
MANUFACTURING, PACKAGING AND DISTRIBUTION
Currently, Nordikas is the home footwear brand with most international coverage. Form choosing the materials, to the distribution in shops in all the countries, Nordikas guarantees the highest standards of quality.
In the 1980’s, Nordikas broke new ground with its R+D, surprising the market with footwear with soles, bases and constructions which had little to do with what they had known up until then.
The application of technologies such as Nordishock, Nordiflex and Poron 4000 provided maximum flexibility and buffering to the Nordikas models.
The Sanitized system offers better anti-microbial protection, as well as factors such as the breathability, ergonomics and the softness to always get the perfect footwear. This new concept ensure the brand became a leader in its category where, up to now, it continues to be the indisputable leader.
